Hello Lady Generals Soccer Community,
This is a very decision for me but I've decided to resign as the head girls soccer coach at Thomas Nelson High School. 6 years has really flown by when I think about it and I'm not sure I've even had time to process it all.
The Lady Generals Soccer Program will always hold a special place in my heart - we've fought together, we've laughed together, we've won and lost together, and we've even cried together. I've been very fortunate to have had an opportunity to work and learn from a number of people - players, parents, coaches, and community partners. The experiences that we've shared over the last 6 years and the people that have been a part of that is what I will miss the most.
To anyone who has been involved with this program during my tenure, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU! When I first started, I was naive in thinking I could tackle the challenges presented within this role by myself - that belief couldn't have been further from the truth. It takes a village of people, each with unique skill sets, each committed towards a common goal, to come together to build something great. I've been very fortunate to have some remarkable people supporting me along the way. THANK YOU!
This experience has challenged me in so many different ways, and as a result its helped me grow in so many ways - not only as a coach but also as a person. My hope is everyone who has been involved with the program has grown as well. I look forward to staying connected with the program as much as possible and I look forward to reconnecting with many of you in the future.
Next Steps:
Over the next week, a position for head girls soccer coach at TNHS will be posted on the Nelson County Schools district site. People who are interested in the position will seek out this opportunity and coaching interviews will occur. I will continue to serve as the point person for the program should anyone have questions or concerns.
The images below doesn't cover all of the memories, but I wanted to share just a few...
Thank you for everything and as always, Go Lady G's
Alex Martin
