Centre Camp Opportunity

 Hello all!

I hope you are having a great summer. I wanted to reach out with an exciting opportunity for our girls, but you will have to act fast. Coach Argueta from Nelson County reached out to me today, asking if any of the girls on our team would be interested in joining his team at the Centre Soccer Camp from June 20th to June 24th. This is an overnight camp with 2 girls to a room, and you would be joining the camp working alongside the Nelson County team and playing with them. There is some great competition attending this camp and it is an excellent opportunity to improve your skills! The cost is about $430 for the camp, but please talk to me about opportunities to get $100 of that covered.

If you are interested, please reach out to Coach Argueta ASAP as he has to finalize who is going by tomorrow, June 8th. I hate to give you all this information so last minute, but I was just told about this opportunity today. His contact information is richard.argueta@nelson.kyschools.us or you can call him at (270) 300-2804.

Recruitment Opportunity--Get to Know You! Practice

 Hello everybody!!

We have a lot of exciting things coming up as well as a recruitment opportunity for our team. We are going to host a "Get to Know You" practice on Tuesday May 18th from 4:30-5:30! This will be an opportunity for girls who are interested in joining our team to get to know the players. We will play some fun soccer games and introduce ourselves. If you are involved in another sport during this time, I understand that you will not be able to attend the practice, but all girls should try to make it if they can. We want as many girls as possible there, so that new members can get to know us and will feel motivated to join our team!

If you know of anyone interested in joining the team, please tell them about this! Flyers will also be given to incoming freshmen this Monday to spread the word.

End of Season Celebration & Transition to 2021 Season

Good Afternoon Lady Generals Soccer Community,

One of our program traditions is to host an End of Season Celebration Banquet. During this time we gather together to celebrate our players and community members, to reflect upon the season, and to share gratitude. Additionally, I have formally stepped down as the head girls soccer coach, and we have hired Mrs. Nicole Burdette to be the new head coach for the Lady Generals Soccer Team. During our time on the 25th, we will introduce Coach Burdette to the Lady G's Community! So, I would like to formally invite you and your family to attend this remarkable event. Continue reading for details and next steps.

Date: April 25, 2021
Time: 6:00-7:30PM
Place: TNHS Cafe

Agenda

Coach Burdette Next Steps
End of Season Picture Slideshow

One anchor process for the event is to host a potluck meal. The meat will be purchased and bought by the soccer booster club, and then all players will be responsible for bringing at least one side dish to support the meal. We will be having fried chicken and we will plan on eating at 6:00PM. Please click on this document to view the side dish that we have requested you to bring. If you have a specialty dish that you would like to bring in lieu of the requested dish, then please do so.

Next Steps For Players
  1. Discuss the banquet with your family and determine how many people will be attending from your party. Fill out this Google Form to communicate attendance and gift showcase pairings.
  2. One of the goals at the banquet is to celebrate each individual player and the gifts that they bring to our team. Players will be partnered together where you will then be responsible for reflecting about your partner and identifying what you appreciate about them and how they contribute to our program. At the banquet, you will read the celebrations that you have identified for your partner. Reference this document for official details of the Player Gift Showcase.
  3. Character Awards - We will honor select individuals for demonstrating outstanding character throughout the course of the season. All players will have an opportunity to vote for student-athletes who have best exemplified the traits described for each award. Before you vote, please read the descriptions for each award - the descriptions can be found within the Google Forms. The following awards will be distributed: Higher Purpose Award, Community Award, Team over Individual Award, Pursuit of Excellence Award, and the LEADER Award. Votes must be received by Wednesday, April 21. PLAYER Awards - Vote Here
  4. Uniform Collection - all player uniforms should be properly washed, bagged, and returned at the banquet. All uniforms must be inventoried each season. Players who fail to return their uniform or parts of their uniform will have a charge placed on their student account until it is returned or purchased.
  5. Make Coach Martin aware of what questions you may have.

Thanks,

Alex Martin
